The “Going Dark” Encryption Debate

Write an essay discussing the issue of “going dark”. What does it mean for law enforcement seeking to prevent terrorism and punish criminal behavior? What about for private companies who gather data about their customers? Does the government’s “diminishing access” pose a problem? Does it create an area of “ungoverned space” where information is not accessible regardless of the nature of criminal activity?
