Please respond the the following responses: POST 1: This chapter was quite informational in terms to historical and modern day corrections, when it comes to minority groups. While reading the chapter, I was reminded of a class discussion in one of our chapters that we had read about a week ago. It had been discussed, that the criminal justice system had always ensured a way to keep those who were ethnically, racially, and religiously different; down. That the system had been designed to show impartiality towards minorities. Well, considering that this chapter dived into the historical aspects of the early system, I would agree that it is true. There has always been impartiality and disparity towards minority groups. Reading some of the methods that the prison system used to ensure the enslavement and servitude of people considered to be of a lower class, is saddening to me. And what is worse, is that many of those methods still exist today. POST 2: According to this chapter, because of the war on drugs, and because of the extended sentences associated with that era, many women were incarcerated for lengthier sentences and this has helped fuel the growth in the female inmate population. Given the rates of drug use among female offenders, the growth in their numbers behind bars is not surprising. Currently, the United States incarcerates more women than any other country in the world. This is a shock to me because I never thought that drugs would be the cause of incarceration for most women.

If interest rates suddenly rise by 2% (so the new yield to maturity of both bonds is 7%), which bond suffers the largest percentage change in its price? (Hint: compute the price of both bonds with the 5% YTM and then with 7% YTM, the compute the percentage change in price.) 

5. Suppose we have a five-year bond with face value of $1000, a coupon rate of 7%, semi- 1 annual coupon payments, and a yield to maturity of 5% APR. This bond allows the issuer to not make coupon payments for the first year. Find its price. (Hint: this is a two step problem. If we are at year 1, this is a regular four-year bond, find its price this way and then discount it back to year 0.) 

6. On March 15, 2016, the U.S. government issued a bond with maturity of February 15, 2046, coupon rate of 2.5%, $100 in face value, and semiannual payments made on February 15 and August 15 of each year. If the yield to maturity of this bond is 2.67%, what was its price on the day it was issued (March 15, 2016)? (Hint: find the PV of all payments as of August 15, 2016 and then discount it back to March 15.)
