Compare and Contrast two yield curves, economics homework help

1. Compare and Contrast two yield curves.
Plot a recent nominal constant maturity US Treasury yield curve (from the US Treasury website) and compare it to the one prior to the election result of Donald Trump.
On the same graph, for as many data points as possible, estimate in basis points the amount the yield curve rose due to a change in inflationary expectations (use a stacked line chart to shade this increase onto your plot). Also include an estimate for the real interest rate change. (Also shade the area that was due to a change in ‘real’ interest rate expectations in a different color). Use the TIPS yield curve from the Treasury Website to estimate the change in inflationary vs real interest rates expectations.
(Plot both yield curves on the same graph, use different lines and spend some time making it look clear and pretty. If you can’t shade the graph in excel, then shade it on your print out. Put the estimates for change in real and change in inflationary expectations on the graph somewhere).
2. From your last yield curve estimate a liquidity premium at the 5 year mark, to help estimate where you think the 3 months rate (or Fed Funds Rate) will be in 5 years time. Forward guidance on the Fed Funds rate is offered on the Fed’s website.
3. Attach newspaper article(s) with your printed graph to hand in, that help explain/justify why expectations for future short term interest rates, long term interest rates, and inflationary expectations changed so dramatically.1. Compare and Contrast two yield curves.

Response to student on Ethics violations POV of a marketing agency, management homework help

INSTRUCTIONS: Please RESPOND to this answer from the Point of view as a student. Use credible sources and respond as if you are a member of a marketing agency. Tell this student what your agency would think of each of these answers:

Ethics violations

Ethics violations are common in the workplace for a number of reasons. An example that immediately leapt to mind, and other students have addressed, is the issue of Wells Fargo. Violations of an ethical code can occur in situations like the prominent bank’s, in which upper management expects and rewards unrealistic behavior, essentially encouraging employees for acting poorly (Egan, 2016). Carpenter and Sanders explain, “…the larger the reward, the more some people are willing to compromise their standards” (2008, p. 58). Other occurrences of unethical behavior can occur because of distributed responsibility and employees believing someone else will blow the whistle or would be more equipped to report the activity (Carpenter & Sanders, 2008). Another cause is often obedience to authority, in which employees obey the upper management team despite the ethics of the behavior, and a false consensus, in which team members convince each other than the behavior isn’t actually unethical (Hoyk & Hersey, 2009).

It is interesting to note that these items are not necessarily threats to decision making, as biases are, but are instead subverted, unethical attempts at rational thinking. It is, indeed, rational to think that another employee may be more qualified to blow the whistle on bad behavior. However, it is still not correct. To induce employees to think rationally and ethically, firms must have ethics standards and means of implementing them. This includes empowering employees to speak up against unethical behavior.

21st Century Leadership

Assignment 2: 21st Century Leadership

Due Week 8 and worth 300 points

The 20th and 21st centuries have produced many business leaders, such as corporate giants like Jack Welch of GE, Daymond John of FUBU, Steve Jobs of Apple, and Herb Kelleher of Southwest. In addition, many hip-hop moguls have risen to prominence, such as Sean Combs, aka P Diddy, of Bad Boy Records; Russell Simmons, founder of Def Jam; and Sean Carter, aka Jay Z, of Rock Nation.

Regardless of their business models and industries, organizational leaders are expected to create realistic visions for their companies and the people that they guide. However, such visions often result in vastly different leadership styles. Therefore, experts have concluded that there is no one best leadership style geared towards guiding employees and companies to accomplishing organizational goals.

Using the Internet and Strayer databases, research your favorite senior executive (CEO, CFO, COO, Director, President, Founder, etc.) from any organization that has made a strong impact on his or her industry (fashion, music, food, banking, technology, automotive, etc.).

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Describe the overall leadership style(s) of your chosen senior executive.
  2. Analyze the organizational structure and culture of the company your chosen executive has led, or is currently leading, and determine the company’s approach to human capital management and employee development. Next, explain whether or not you believe your chosen senior executive’s leadership approach has enhanced workplace productivity and the shared vision of the organization. Provide one to two (1-2) examples of your chosen senior executive’s actions to support your response.
  3. Evaluate the effectiveness of your selected leader’s performance, based on his or her ethical conduct and effective communication. Next, determine whether the chosen leader was successful in motivating and empowering his or her employees and gaining customer loyalty.
  4. Determine three (3) best practices that other organizational leaders can use in order to motivate employees and transform their company, based on practices that you believe made your chosen leader successful at his or her company and within his or her industry. Support your rationale with an explanation of the potential benefits that other business leaders may reap from your chosen best practices.
  5. Use at least five (5) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Explain the multiple aspects of the managerial planning process and the application of various business- and corporate-level strategies.
  • Analyze the importance of ethical behavior to an organization’s culture and the new ethical dilemmas created by globalization.

domestic violence, accounting essay help

I have to do a stance essay on, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE If you are good with this type of thing, please let me asap

In this version, you will move from simply discussing the issue to developing an updated essay that takes a clear stance on one aspect of your topic. The goal of this essay is to learn how changing the purpose of the writing (from informative to more argumentative) impacts the content and potential audience. Further, it will help you understand the difference between writing to argue your perspective and writing to educate your audience.  This knowledge will help you transition into persuasive writing (covered in ENG 215 – Research and Writing) and more advanced essays in your major courses.

You will take a position and present your perspective – alternatively put, your stance – on the issue you discuss. For instance, if you wrote an informative essay on water pollution levels in Flint, Michigan, then your stance essay could argue that the city must frequently test water throughout the state to avoid a similar issue.  A second stance would be that government officials should be held accountable when they fail the people who elected them in the first place. These are only two of the many possible stances that you could take. As always, you should work with your professor if you have questions about your topic choice or essay direction.

How to assemble the essay:

  1. Decide what part of the topic you want to take a stance on. This is best done by thinking carefully about the topic and considering what different people may want to argue for or against involving that issue. Think about what aspect of your previous paper you feel strongly about.
  2. Write a new thesis statement that covers your paper’s topic and direction (what you want the reader to understand when the essay is completed).
  3. Perform the research needed to meet the source requirements (minimum 3 additional sources). You may not use more than two of the provided sources in the webtext.
  4. Make sure that no content from your informative paper is reused.  You may use some of the same sources, but you will be writing a new paper, so you cannot reuse anything else.
  5. Review the finished draft to make sure the ideas flow, each of the paragraphs supports the thesis statement found at the end of the introduction, and that your conclusion brings the essay to a strong sense of closure.
  6. Finally, proofread the version you intend to turn in for grammatical, sentence structure, clarity, and word use errors.

The final version of the essay must:

  • Be in essay form with an introduction, body, and conclusion
  • Conclusion should explain why the essay’s main points are important
  • Meet the page requirement of 5-6 pages (Title and References pages do not count)
  • Address the same overall topic as your informative essay
  • Take a clear stance on the issue in question and articulate your stance through a well-developed thesis statement (found at the end of the introduction)
  • Support your thesis statement with developed analysis of your sources and how they connect to your topic
  • Use a minimum of five (5) academically appropriate sources properly cited in APA format and represented on the References page

Group Decision Making Case

Making decisions as a group can be very challenging. It can lead to conflict and take up huge amounts of time, and often it is difficult to come to an agreement. Fortunately, several different techniques have been developed to overcome some of these difficulties. No one technique is considered the best for all situations, as all of the techniques have advantages and disadvantages.

For this assignment, first thoroughly review the background readings and pay close attention to three group decision-making processes—the Delphi technique, brainstorming, and the Nominal Group Technique. Pay close attention to the discussion of these methods in Rao (2009), Bolland and Fletcher (2012), and Sims (2002). The Anderson (1990) article will be helpful as well.

Below are three different scenarios. For each scenario, explain which group decision-making technique you would choose out of brainstorming, nominal group, or Delphi. Justify your answer with references from the required background materials. Your paper should be 4–5 pages in length:

  1. The company you work for is in crisis. Several new competitors have been rapidly growing and taking away your customers. Your company’s sales are steadily dropping. You and the rest of the top management team know that creative new strategies are needed in order to keep up with the new competitors. Nobody is sure what needs to be done, but it is clear something drastic and original needs to happen in order to keep the company afloat. The top management team members are all extroverts who are not afraid to speak up at meetings, but they are often prone to conventional thinking. Which group decision-making technique do you recommend? Explain your reasoning, and use references to Rao (2009), Bolland and Fletcher (2012), or Sims (2002) to support your answer.
  2. Your company is facing cost overruns and needs solutions on how best to cut costs. The top management team includes both introverts and extroverts, with the extroverts usually dominating the conversation at meetings. Furthermore, meetings with this group often go off the agenda and drift into tangential subjects. A quick decision needs be made with input from all members of the team. Which group decision-making technique do you recommend? Explain your reasoning, and use references to Rao (2009), Bolland and Fletcher (2012), or Sims (2002) to support your answer.
  3. Your company needs to purchase a new software system as the old one is out of date. Your team consists of IT managers from all of the company’s overseas divisions. These managers are highly skilled and very knowledgeable about the different software options, but it is difficult to arrange a meeting with them due to the time differences and their very busy schedules. The decision is not urgent, but you need to make a decision within the next three months. Which group decision-making technique do you recommend? Explain your reasoning, and use references to Rao (2009), Bolland and Fletcher (2012), or Sims (2002) to support your answer.
  4. Conclude your paper with a discussion about which of the three group decision-making processes (nominal group, brainstorming, or Delphi) is the most useful for the largest number of situations. Explain your reasoning, and use references from the background materials to support your answer.
